Spirited amongst the most unique retailers in the world such as Corso Como 10 in Milan and L’Eclaireur in Paris, Malibu welcomes a new concept in luxury retail. Madison Gallery will take center stage in the Malibu Country Mart upon its much anticipated opening in August 2007. Entrepreneur and owner of Madison retail locations, Mark Goldstein, is adding another major shopping destination to his Southern California portfolio of retail spaces with the opening of Madison Gallery, the upscale sister to Madison.

Madison Gallery will feature women’s and men’s Ready-To-Wear collections as well as shoes, handbags and jewelry. Every piece has been hand picked and sourced by Mark Goldstein and Head Buyer/Fashion Stylist Belen Hormaeche, to offer something special and unique. The store will debut with directional collections from exclusive designer labels, together with well known luxury fashion brands. Exciting names include Nina Ricci, Balmain, Marni, Derek Lam, Zac Posen, Burberry Prorsum and Matthew Williamson. Additionally, there will be an extensive roster of emerging talent, including Erin Fetherston, Sari Gueron, Todd Lynn and Japanese label Triptych, to name just a few. Highlights in the accessories category include Lanvin and Pierre Hardy, amongst many others. One-of-a-kind items, luxury house wares, design books and unique curiosities will make Madison Gallery a retail experience unlike any other.

With the personal signature of the owner, this dual level retail location will have a modern yet eclectic interior aesthetic with dark walls reminiscent of medieval Europe. The different design elements feature collectible furniture and unusual objects sourced from all over the world, including a polished nickel surfboard by Marc Newson, large light installations constructed from mannequin forms hanging from the entry’s vaulted ceilings, as well as mid-century furniture and lighting by French icons Jean Prouve, Serge Mouille and Charlotte Perriand. Madison Gallery, which occupies 2,770 square feet, will evoke irony and emotion with its mixture of 20th Century design, custom finishes and industrial and architectural salvage, yet with the comfort of a luxury home. Adding to the plethora of intriguing features, and to create a sense of seclusion and privacy for its VIP clientele, the entrance to the store will be a paparazzi-proof metal clad electronic sliding door.
